The Scots Gaelic word for moth is leamhan.

When the heather fields dip into darkness in the late Summer evening, the moths come out to play. Feeding on the tiny heather buds, moths are an iconic sight in the evenings in Scotland, especially the heath moth. This special moth, which can also be seen during the day, is a resident of the heather fields and we like to think of them as charms of luck. With lots of detail and wonderful shaped wings, we have incorporated some of these patterns into our jewellery.
